- Your Airline’s App: Stay updated on flight schedules, gate changes, and receive real-time updates on delays and cancellations.
- WhatsApp: Communicate internationally with friends and family without worrying about expensive roaming charges. Guides, hotel concierges’, and drivers will commonly communicate with you through WhatsApp
- Trip Plans: Keep all your travel plans organized in one place, from flight details to hotel reservations to sightseeing tours. This app is how you’ll be able to view your full itinerary provided to you by yours truly, so it’s a definite must!
- Xe Currency Converter: Easily convert currencies on the go, so you always know exactly how much you’re spending.
- Google Translate: If you’re traveling internationally, a language barrier can make simple tasks significantly more challenging, so I recommend this app for typing or speaking phrases for instant translation.
- Uber: This may feel like a no-brainer, but if it’s not something you already use commonly, you’ll want to download this app. It’s not available everywhere in the world so you’ll want to check in advance if Uber is available in the destination/s you’ll be visiting.
- Rick Steves Audio Europe: Enhance your European travels with audio guides for popular destinations.
A few others that I haven’t tried but will on my next trip:
- Packpoint: Generate custom packing lists based on your destination, trip duration, and weather forecast to ensure you never forget essentials.
- Trail Wallet: Track your expenses in multiple currencies, set daily budgets, and visualize spending with easy-to-read charts and graphs.
- HappyCow: Discover vegan, vegetarian, and veg-friendly restaurants worldwide for delightful plant-based dining experiences.
